Nihon Michelin Tire

Japan, which is one of the world's leading automobile nations, and here in Japan, Michelin is working to develop mobility. One of the biggest three Michelin R&D centers in the world is located in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, where we develop winter tires, tires used in Asia, and tires for new cars. As a business, we handle a wide range of tires including passenger cars and motorcycles, trucks, buses, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and airplane tires.

1964 Michelin Japan's Creation

Michelin Steel Radial "X" tires have been adopted for the new monorail between Tokyo Monorail Hamamatsucho and Haneda Airport.
This was the first Michelin step in Japan.

500 Employees

Approximately half of them are working in the marketing and sales department for the original equipment and repair market in Japan, and the other half are in the R&D department that produces tires globally competitive.
